Sandwich Box Mk2 Operating System Support


Will my Mk2 Sandwich Box work on Windows 10?


Sandwich Box Mk3 (serial numbers 500 and upwards) work with all currently supported Windows operating systems, i.e. 32 bit or 64 bit versions of Windows 7, 8 and 10.

Sandwich Box Mk2 (Sandwich Boxes with serial numbers from 200 to 499) as originally supplied, will only work with operating systems up to Windows 7 owing to driver issues.

The firmware of these Sandwich Boxes can be upgraded to allow use with all currently supported Windows operating systems, as listed above. Please contact Verif-i for further information on: info@verif-i.com




Testif-i Software Support Programme


What does the Software Support Programme give me?


The Testif-i Software Support Programme entitles subscribers to unlimited technical support (by phone and email during UK office hours). Subscribers are also entitled to free software and dongle upgrades as they are released.
The subscription is renewable annually and can be on a per dongle or per company basis. Please contact Verif-i for further details on: info@verif-i.com




Dongle upgrades


Why must I obtain a dongle upgrade, and how do I get one?


Testif-i software cannot be used without an activated dongle except to process the demo data. A dongle must be upgraded when its time limit has expired or a new software release (i.e. a change in version number) is obtained.

A code may be obtained from Verif-i to upgrade the dongle (note that there may be a charge for this if you are not a member of the Software Support Programme).

If you require an upgrade the first step is to run the Check Dongle module within Testif-i and click the Save button to save the dongle details to a text file. Send this text file along with details of your upgrade requirements to Verif-i on: info@verif-i.com

Verif-i will supply an upgrade code which includes:
1. A summary of the changes to be performed by the upgrade
2. An upgrade Customer Code
3. An upgrade Confirmation Code

On receiving an upgrade code, the user should check the Changes Made to ensure that the upgrade is suitable. Copy the upgrade code to the Windows clipboard (e.g. highlight the code and press Control-C) Launch the Upgrade Dongle Utility (Start/All Programs/Testif-i 2xx/Upgrade Dongle). Paste the upgrade code into the appropriate box (e.g. click in the box and press Control-V). Click the Make Changes to Dongle button. Note the Confirmation Code which is generated. If this is the same as the supplied Confirmation Code, then the upgrade was successful.




Dongle problems


The following error codes may be encountered:

error 20 - This programme is not included in this dongle. Your dongle is not programmed for the version of Testif-i that you are trying to run. A dongle upgrade is required.

error 25 - The dongle expiry date has been reached The dongle has expired. A dongle upgrade is required.

error 28 - Dongle not found Testif-i cannot "see" the dongle. Re-check the dongle after a few seconds - the PC may be busy with another task. Check that the dongle is connected to the PC USB port.

Check your dongle by going to "Start \ All Programs \ Testif-i xxx \ Check Dongle" where xxx is the Testif-i version number.

What is the significance of the version number on Testif-i software?


Testif-i releases are all identified by a unique code e.g. 206a

The number determines the release number and the letter indicates the update level. New releases include extra features and have to be paid for. Members of the Software Support Programme can obtain new releases free of charge. Each new release (i.e. number change) requires that the dongle be upgraded using a code supplied by Verif-i.

Updates are generally bug fixes for the software and free to all users who qualify for the same numerical version. Any update level for a given release can be run without upgrading the dongle.

What is the minimum requirements for a computer to run the Testif-i or Sandwich Box software?


Operating system: Windows Vista, 7, 8 or 10..

 

The minimum hardware requirements are:

  • Pentium 4 or Athlon 64 processor
  • 256 MB of RAM
  • 1 GB of hard drive space
  • 1024 x 768 screen resolution
