Testif-i

Independent test analysis for seismic systems

Testif-i is an independent software package for analysing instrument, source and receiver tests performed by seismic recording instruments.

Latest Versions: Testif-i Land 2.03d

Testif-i Marine 3.01

Testif-i Land Testif-i Marine

Overview

•   Independent, powerful and cost-effective

•   Identifies problems missed by instrument self-tests

•   Directly comparable results from different instruments

•   Easy to use, PC based using Windows or Linux

•   Accepts all common seismic recording data formats

•   Reads tapes using SCSI tape handling utilities

•   Analyses all standard instrument, source and receiver tests

•   Graphical presentation for clear interpretation of results

•   Histograms for large channel sets

  •   Versions available for Land and Marine crews
Design Considerations

In designing Testif-i, particular attention has been given to ease of use and to the quality of report presentation. Tests are executed after selection of simple parmeters, whose values are included in the results. Results can be saved as graphical files for electronic transmission, inserting into documents or web archiving. They can also be saved in numerical format for importing by spreadsheet packages.

Functionality

Both versions of Testif-i include comprehensive routines for all standard and instrument specific tests including:

  • noise and offset
  • distortion
  • impulse response
  • crossfeed
  • gain similarity
  • dynamic range
  • common mode rejection ratio (CMRR)
  • IFP gain step analysis.

Most tests can be analysed in the time or frequency domain.

The suites also contain modules for viewing test data graphically or numerically, and performing manipulation of trace data, such as summing, correlation, sorting etc.

System Requirements

Testif-i runs under Windows (2000 & XP) or Linux (RedHat 7.1, 7.2, 8 & 9) operating systems. A SCSI card and tape drive may be used to read data from tape, or data can be from disk in a variety of common formats such as:

  • SEG-1
  • SEG-2
  • SEG-B
  • SEG-D
  • SEG-Y
  • FMR
  • VQC88

Minimum PC system requirements are Pentium 2 or equivalent processor, 64 MB RAM, 800 x 600 display, CD drive, USB port.

Proven Track record

There are over 100 licenses in use worldwide. Users include energy companies, contractors and QC companies. Independent, powerful and cost-effective, the Testif-i suite of software will give you total confidence in the configuration and fidelity of your data recording systems.

Verif-i has a policy of continually improving its' products and welcomes feedback from users.
